Instead, here are some warning signs that may mean you’re on a slippery slope downwards into a toxic relationship with your job.

It’s taking over your life

It’s not healthy to just be solely concentrated on your work. There’s working hard and then there’s working too hard. If you find yourself shrugging off after-work commitments, ignoring friends or are struggling to make any time for yourself, then you have a job that is putting too much pressure you. Sometimes you may find that it’s the only thing you ever talk about as well! If this is happening then it’s time for you to get home and push it aside for a few hours. It’s not healthy to only focus on your work. Instead, try and slowly pull yourself off it and keep to the mentality that work belongs at work, not at home. That time is yours to relax.

No Social Life

Again, you may find that you get asked to work very long hours of overtime, or perhaps even get put on a project that you have very little experience. If you find yourself constantly saying no to social commitments, perhaps not even finding the time to go out for a date with one of the gorgeous Crewe escorts, or pushing friends away because you don’t want to burden them, then it’s time for you to take a step back and breathe. Having a stressful job is one thing, but you can only do as much as you can. There’s no point in constantly aching over small things you could be doing at work. Short Deadlines

If you are working in a very fast-paced environment, you will need to be careful to make sure that you don’t just burn out. It’s hard to constantly be on the go 24/7 with a high workload and not very much time to get it finished. You do not want to fizzle out due to one bad job. So, if you are nervous about your deadlines, it’s important that you talk to your HR supervisor about it. That way you can prove that you may have been thrown too much work to efficiently getting through. It is also important to make it clear that it is damaging your mental health.

Outside your job description

One of the main reasons behind a toxic relationship with your workplace is due to expectations. Your managers expect a lot from you and your staff. But if they are starting to run behind a deadline, they can try and throw a lot more work on you than you are capable of, this includes work that may not have been originally included in your job description. If you are worried that you cannot complete it, or that you will make a poor job of it, make sure to speak to the manager and ask that someone either shows you how to complete the task or that it is handed to someone else with higher qualifications. That will take the pressure off you.

Find a new job

You know, if it is all getting a little too much for you to handle, then maybe it is time for you to start searching for new pastures. Not every single job is going to be a walk in the park. It’s going to come with its ups and downs. But if you are genuinely unhappy, and are starting to feel burned out from a toxic relationship with your workplace, it may be time to think things through and start the job hunt again.
