There are many different kinds of traveller and not everyone enjoys the same kind of holiday. But travelling should be about trying new things, and not having preconceived ideas about how things should be. Here are some holiday ideas for every type of traveller to think about.
Volunteer
There are so many opportunities to give back to those who are less fortunate. You can travel to India or another developing country and teach English to children who don’t have the resources to get an education. If you are a trained medical doctor you can work in areas that are in medical crisis. You can work on conservation projects for endangered animals in different areas of the world. You can even volunteer down the street from where you live. The most important part is that you give your time to something that you believe in. You will feel great about the work you have put in and it will make you feel good.
Stay in a Luxury Villa
Luxury villas are great because it is like having your own home. You can rent villas that are fully staffed or villas that are self-catering. You can get them with pools, with vehicles, and many other options. You can rent a villa almost anywhere in the world and it is a fabulous alternative to staying in that same hotel chain that you have stayed at in every other country that you visited.
Get an Adrenaline Rush
An adrenaline rush is a great way to remind yourself that you are still alive. There are many ways to experience an adrenaline rush. You could try bungee jumping in New Zealand; ziplining through a rainforest in Costa Rica; scuba diving with sharks in South Africa; or ice climbing on waterfalls in the Austrian Alps. The most important part is that you are doing something that requires all of your focus and scares you just a little.
Get Back to Nature
There are many different ways to get back to nature. For travelers who don’t spend a lot of time outside this could just mean joining a walking or cycling tour that involves lots of fresh air and sunshine. For the hard core nature lovers this could mean traveling to Africa to see wild animals in their natural habitat and learning how to track them. You could also go on an outdoor adventure and trek one of the peaks of the world. The important thing is that you are getting back to nature which has numerous health benefits and is good for your stress levels.
Climb Mount Toubkal
This is perfect if you want to challenge yourself. Jebel Toubkal is in Morocco and it is the highest mountain in North Africa. The peak has an elevation of 4,167 metres and it goes past many interesting sites. You can wander through Berber villages where the little has changed in their lifestyle in the last few hundred years. The views on this climb are stunning as you go from the Atlas foothills all the way to the snow covered peak.
